Children from families with incomes at or below 130 percent of the poverty level are eligible for free meals. A parent has the right to appeal a long-term suspension decision in accordance with local school board policy. The appeal may first go to the local superintendent or his or her designee or to a sub-committee of the local school board; final appeal is to the full school board.
